Big wahoo being caught locally after the full moon.

Author RJ Boyle
Pictured here is John Bassett from Boca Raton with a big wahoo caught a few days back. As the cold weather dissipated and the barometer started to steady the fishing really picked up this week. On a morning trip we were ecstatic as we hooked 6 sailfish and this big wahoo while fishing live bait off of Boca. We also boated a fat kingfish which have been relatively nonexistent. If you are planning on a trip out this weekend concentrate your efforts in shallower water as most of the fish have been caught inside of 200 feet of water. We are hoping that the bite continues through the weekend, but we do have some rough weather on the horizon as I am writing this. Be sure to check the marine weather apps for current conditions. "Lisa B" and the local charter boats put up good sailfish catches and had success targeting snapper on bottom.
