It looks like the wind is finally going to lay down for the weekend!

Anglers that braved the rough seas over the last week were greeted with some fantastic fishing! You are looking at a picture of a four hour charter earlier this week of board the Lisa B. Captain Mark Danley and Will Fasullo were busy hooking up anglers to blackfin tuna, kingfish, bonito, mahi-mahi and a wahoo. Everything you see on the table was caught while trolling. The spread consists of three top surface baits and two deeper planer baits. We always fish two squid daisy chains as teasers as well. The best of the fishing was between 160 feet and 250 feet. We should see some nicer mahi-mahi over the next several days because of such a long easterly wind flow, pushing everything in towards the beach. You will probably have to battle the seaweed, but it should be worth it.
For the guys strictly looking for mahi, you may want to run and gun and fish to larger pieces of seaweed offshore. You may also want to consider artificial strips instead of real bonito strips. When you have lots of seaweed around, you can really go through some real strips quickly, which can hurt your pocket book. Try the artificial strip for mahi-mahi.
