Great weather and better fishing should last all weekend.

Great weather and better fishing should last all weekend.

Pictured here are two beautiful fish caught during our monthly Mission Fishin' volunteer trip this week. These fish were caught between 100 and 300 feet of water. There have been spotty weed lines pretty consistently out to 1,000 feet of water. If you are fishing this weekend, be sure to hit some of these edges. Several boats also caught smaller wahoo up to 15 pounds on floating debris amongst the weed. The birds will be a dead giveaway for some of these slick and weed line areas.
Near shore the wahoo bite has been ridiculous on the first several hours of the outgoing tide. The first two hours of the outgoing tide are always the most productive as water is exiting the inlet. Try to take notice as to which way the current is flowing near the sea buoy. If you have a south or southerly current, then you may want to fish to the south around the local inlets and wrecks. There is a much larger gap between Boca Inlet and Boynton, which takes the water longer for the outgoing tide to reach the Boca area. Father offshore very few boats fished for swordfish this week, so we don't have any valid reports. The wahoo over in the Bahamas has been mediocre over the last week. Several boats did catch fish, but most of the fish are on the smaller side under 30 pounds. The water has been inconsistent with patches of green and weedy conditions. We did have several good reports of snapper and grouper fishing this week.
