Pictured here are the crew of the Hectic Daze Vl with some big tuna and mahi. Last week we talked about inconsistency in the fishing locally because of the radical changes in weather. When Paul Castronovo sent me this photo of his son AJ, pictured here on the right with the Mahi, it confirmed the fact that meat season is officially underway. Fishing might still suck every now and then for the next couple months but overall the fish are here and you just need them to cooperate. The best of the fishing over the last several days has been around 200 feet of water. Anglers are having success, both trolling and using live bait and kite fishing. Farther offshore the swordfish bite is excellent as well. Local Angler Ari Albinder caught a nice 100 pound sword the other day on his first drop. While he was fighting the swordfish they also caught a bunch of mahi. The swordfish grounds are located about 14 miles offshore.
The fish are here and it's time to get tight!
Stay safe!
