Product Details

Fish two rods, cover more water, and never guess when a swordfish is on.

We almost always fish two rods while swordfishing — one pinned near the bottom and one suspended higher in the water column. The buoy rod covers the fish riding up off the bottom, and this float is what keeps that bait where you want it.

How It Works

The swordfish buoy float is simply a bobber that attaches to the buoy rod line. We attach it to buoy wind-on markers at different areas of the buoy spool, so you can set your upper bait at whatever depth the fish want that day. A longline clip at the bottom makes attachment quick and secure.

Your Bite Indicator

The flag at the top is an indicator for not only a bite, but for other vessels traveling nearby. Most times when a swordfish eats the bait on the buoy rod, the buoy will lay flat on the surface — the sword flag is your bite indicator. Other times you'll look out and the buoy is simply gone. If that happens, start reeling!!

Rigging

Attach the float to your buoy wind-on marker using the longline clip, and match your lead weight to the current.
